Evolving Love

Through acts of love, rebukes

And huddles overcome

You can actually hold still

And hear us evolving

I did not love you like I do now

If you rewind a month away

I did not trust you like I do now

If you fast-back October

I did not believe in us like I do now

If you replay a season before

I never knew I would come to fall so

Desparately in love with you

And I wonder if papa knows the

Date for our wedding even before

We set it

And knows we need to go through

All this growth, and pain and beauty

Before our hearts and souls say I do

And knows the aftermath Experiences of our marriage that

A part of me dreads and a part of me

Looks forward to

That every day brings you closer

To knowing every one of my demons

And how I bruise and scar and cry

Ever too frequently

And how I forget things ever too easily

Scares me

Yet I can only but stare

And hope our love will survive it

And our strength will indeed

Build for us

A family with a heritage

That will resonate for years of posterity.

Relationships that survive the process of two strangers exposing their flaws to each other…misunderstandings caused by human nature and the huddles life itself throws at man is a sight to behold.

And in this century…for it to survive marriage and build a heritage is another miracle.

From hindsight it’s beautiful to watch the process of evolution……..indeed it’s interestingly beautiful.

It’s just so difficult to achieve

Nurture

Tend to

Grow

But when you get there

It’s the most beautiful sunset ever!

When you get there

Your smile will stretch unending

You would have found in him

Or her

A friend who sticks closer than

A brother

Those painful

Necessary moments

When he had to hurt you

To make you better

And you had to hurt him

To make him better

Will now all be worth it

Coz love really is pain

Blissful only to the receiver

And that’s why there is nothing

Better than…

To love and be

Loved in return.

Coz when the lovers both

Love unselfishly…unconditionally

Then LoVe will be going

All angles

Equity of the pain…and unmeasurable joy

Then you’ll know the fullness of love!

When I got to the end of watching the series ‘Nikita’…then I knew the fullness of love. And I was amazed! Used to think love was only pain.

Love is Only the beginning

I’m glad our story scripted this way

That we decided

Individually

Then committed

In spite of the odds

Then grew in fondness and respect

Till we tripped

And fell in love

Didn’t think I ever would

Or

You ever would

Was prepared to settle in

Philia love

Forget about Eros and Storge

But we’re here now

And it’s dizzy

My heart can’t go a day without

Hearing your voice

And you would fight all the odds

To still pick me up at work

Just so we can see each other

Engage in mundane conversations

And laughter

And the bliss of our young hearts

I’m glad we’re here now

But love is the only the beginning

We would need all to come to play

As we face this maddening

World together

Philia, Eros and Storge will

Have to hold hands

And Respect will have to

Marry Commitment

For the Oceans will rise

And test  our vows

And our passions will

Burn out as the children demand

Our life’s devotion

And trials slap us

And life greets us, “Welcome”

But we must

We must find each other

At the end of the day

And realize we are more

Than lovers

We are more than siblings

You are my world

And I am your life

Bone of my bone

Flesh of my flesh

And you can’t do away

With that

Except death parts us.
